The Citizen Hotel | Bridal Makeup | Sacramento CA Wedding

I have known Amanda and have been doing her makeup for over ten years.

We first met when Amanda was about fifteen years old, and I was managing the MAC counter at Nordstrom at the Roseville Galleria.  She and her mother Sharon would come to the counter weeks before her school dances to book her appointment with me to be sure I could squeeze her in.  Amanda and her mom and I would always spend a little longer than I would typically take for most appointments just laughing and talking, and catching up each few weeks. Still being a fairly newer artist at that time, I was always eager to use Amanda's pretty face as a practice canvas, and had so much fun experimenting with bronze-y tones and bold lashes on her amazing big blue eyes. I was also super impressed with Amanda's sweet disposition and unique sense of maturity for her age. She soon felt like a younger sister to me, and I always looked forward to their visits.

After she graduated from high school, I taught her how to do her own makeup for a few pageants she travelled to compete in, and then I did her makeup for a few local modeling shoots and competitions.  After being away at college in Southern California for a couple of years, I was surprised and excited when Amanda came home and announced her engagement to her long time friend-turned love of her life Blake, and made me promise I would be the one to do her makeup for her big day.

As you can imagine, I was more than honored!

It was the first wedding I ever did with +Jessica Stout of Stout Photography, and although Jessica of course shared with me some of the images of Amanda on her wedding day that I have had in my portfolio for over three years now, I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Amanda for lunch to share her latest adventure-being a new mommy! At our lunch, and my introduction to her new little addition, Amanda was sweet enough to give me all the photos from her wedding day to create this blog post.

These photos are still some of my favorite images, and it is so rewarding to see how far along both my and Jessica's talents and businesses have come along since they were taken, and how all of our friendships have developed, grown and are lasting through all of life's big events, surprises and adventures.

Enjoy.
