Of course, I am a big romantic....
I work in the wedding industry!
And...I am admittedly a sucker for a good tear jerker-be it movie, book, or- in my bride Stephanie's case, a good old star-crossed-lovers-from-separate-continents love story.
Having had a similar long distance romance with a boy from across the pond (that didn't work out so well for me-but thank goodness it didn't or I would have never met my amazing husband!) I was transfixed by Stephanie's tale of how she met Gareth (affectionately called Gaz by herself and his family and friends) and how they made it work.
Stephanie and Gaz met and fell in love while she was abroad in Europe. After a long distance romance via phone, email, text, messenger pigeons...this quirky, fun duo could NOT be kept apart. Finally after several visits...several months..then years...and eventually a baby!...these two finally exchanged vows and started their happily ever after by saying "I do" at Stephanie's family's very own blueberry farm (yes, I said blueberry. I know-it doesn't get much sweeter!) in Lodi, California.
I loved Stephanie's wish to go very natural with her makeup except for her bold, beautiful red lip...I especially love that she decided to wear a birdcage veil for her ceremony- and then wear her signature black framed glasses for the reception!
